Where are you based? I am based in Wokingham, Berkshire, so if you are nearby it would be lovely to see you in person.
If you are further afield, the programme can be delivered just as effectively through Zoom – where else can overcome your issues and learn to thrive in just a few weeks from the comfort of your own home?!
What do you love about The Thrive Programme? Goodness, everything about it and everything it stands for.
The fact that it’s such a different approach to other interventions. That it makes mental health so predictable and understandable. That it is so effective – once you understand what you need to do and why, you can’t not overcome your symptom. The fact that everything in it is evidence-based - with links to the research papers so you can read them for yourself if you want to.
And personally, despite all the therapies I had tried before, I love this programme because it gave me my life back – something I am grateful for every single day.
What did you do before you became a Coach? I spent 15 years in the corporate world, in various HR and Business Excellence roles.
I was very good at what I did – from the outside I was confident, capable and high achieving. But on the inside, I was struggling – daily anxiety, perfectionism, low self-belief. Some days (…weeks!) I couldn’t go into work. Some days I couldn’t even walk down to the post box at the end of the road, which of course I would obsess about and berate myself for!
It wasn’t until I did The Thrive Programme that I fully understood why I thought and felt the way I did – it all made sense. It also showed me what I needed to do to change. It took effort for sure – I had a lot of work to do, but sure enough I started to see progress and then I absolutely knew I was on the right path, and it would only be a matter of time before I was over my issues and thriving.
What do you do when you're not working? I absolutely love life and generally try and find some time in the day to do things I enjoy.
I’m an outdoorsy person so my ideal Sunday would be a family dog walk in the woods (even better if it ends with a hot chocolate or glass of wine!). I play in a ladies football team which is always one of the highlights of my week – I’m quite competitive so I enjoy the exercise and sport side of it, but it’s also great for the jokes and banter that comes with a bunch of middle-aged women chasing a ball round a field! I go to the gym, enjoy spending time with friends and I’m a bit of a foodie so if you have any good recipes – I’m all ears…
An interesting fact? Ask me about the time I accidentally fell into an Olympic swimming pool in front of hundreds of people…
What year were you born? 1980.
What languages do you speak? English.
How would your friends describe you? Down to earth.
Anything else? As well as seeing clients, I am part of the Head Office Team. I run our Thrive in Business and Thrive in Schools teams, and support the recruitment, training and development of our coaches so I have a lot of knowledge and experience to bring to our sessions.
