Five mental health stories – Here at The Thrive Programme, we’re on a mission to help everybody have great mental health and we love these recent stories about people overcoming issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, OCD, anger and gambling problems.

So, sit back and enjoy these five inspiring videos from real people who have overcome mental health challenges using our easy-to-follow, education-led training course.

First, meet the lovely Cansu. She finished one of our courses a few weeks after years of suffering from severe depression, anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem and low confidence.

As anyone who’s suffered from depression knows, it’s a hugely debilitating condition that negatively impacts your entire life, including family and friends. Watch below for how Cansu is doing now.

Young people’s mental health has been in the news a lot lately – often for negative reasons – so we were thrilled to hear from ten-year-old Thea, who was struggling with anxiety related to school.

After completing our specialist young person’s course with her mum, Thea is doing incredibly well and now has the mental health she needs to excel at school and in life as she grows older.

Problem gambling is a society-wide issue with many young men struggling with compulsive behaviour and associated anxiety, depression and negative thoughts around their actions.

So, we love this video from Vidas, who explains how he overcame his issues to be a happy, confident young man.

A little-known condition called vaginismus impacts up to 17% of the female population and involves involuntary tightening of muscles in the vaginal wall, causing pain and discomfort during intercourse.

Juliana suffered from this under-reported condition and below is her extremely honest story about her journey to recovery.

Compulsive behaviours can be crippling on a day-to-day basis, so learning how to overcome something like OCD can be life-changing for many people. One such person is Mark, who took a six-week course and is now able to be the happy, relaxed, fun person he’s always wanted to be, without OCD getting in the way.
